The City of Hamilton's Digital Main Street program helps small businesses adopt digital tolls and strategies to grow. But attendance for workshops, run through the Hamilton Business Centre, was low. The team needed to find topics their audience cared about and a compelling reason to sign up.
Registration and attendance hit an all-time high, with the average session reaching 60+ registrants and 40+ attendees, more than double previous sessions. Feedback has been consistently strong, with over 80% of participants reporting they were very satisfied and 75% saying the training was helpful for their business. In 2023, the program was shortlisted for a Canadian Online Publishing Award for Best Event & Webinar.
